One of the easiest ways to boost your confidence is to take the time to treat yourself. You are extremely hard-working and should be rewarding yourself often. This may mean taking a bubble bath, investing in a new outfit, or getting a manicure. I try to schedule an hour each week to pamper myself and have developed a relaxing routine that leaves me feeling radiant.
Every Friday night, after a long week of stressful work, I set-aside time to take care of my body. I have a fairly strict budget so I’ll usually pamper myself at home with a rejuvenating skincare routine. During this regimen I exfoliate, detox, and moisturize. After I’ve gone through the entire process, I instantly feel refreshed and more confident since my skin is glowing.
1. Dry Brush
I begin my pampering routine by dry brushing. This helps circulate blood flow, detox the body, decrease bloating, and remove the top layer of dead skin. It’s important to have a brush with natural bristles and I currently use Yerba Prima’s Tampico Skin Brush. When dry brushing your skin, be sure to have a light touch as the bristles are firm and could hurt if too much pressure is applied. Always brush up towards your heart and avoid your face. I find dry brushing to be extremely relaxing since it feels like a mini-massage.
2. Exfoliate
After I have dry brushed my body, I hop in the shower to rinse all the dead skin off and exfoliate. My favorite body exfoliant is Trader Joe’s Lavender Salt Scrub because it leaves my skin silky smooth and smells heavenly. What’s better than the soothing scent of lavender while you’re getting pampered? My must-have face wash is Elizabeth Arden’s Prevage Exfoliating Cleanser and this stuff is like liquid gold. The formula has anti-aging properties and the power of a Clarisonic. After exfoliating, my skin is seriously glowing.
3. Face Mask
Immediately after my shower, I apply a face mask and let it sit for 15 minutes. I have several mask’s that I rotate between but lately I’ve been using the Deep Down Detox Mud Mask by Formula 10.0.6. It has dramatically improved my complexion and has a strong orange scent which is invigorating.
4. Moisturize
While my face mask is working it’s magic, I moisturize my body with Nivea’s Skin Firming Hydration Body Lotion. After all the detoxing and exfoliating that I’ve done it’s important to replenish the skin so it doesn’t become dry or irritated. This moisturizer from Nivea keeps skin hydrated for more than 24 hours at a time; I’ve honestly never had softer skin before using this! I especially like this lotion because it also tightens and tones your skin’s surface, which is great if you have cellulite or stretch marks.
5. Skin Peel
To finish my pampering routine, I wash off my mask and apply an overnight skin peel. This may sound scary, but it’s actually pretty great. I use Olay Regenerist’s Resurfacing Elixir which acts as my face moisturizer for the night. This skin peel works overnight while you sleep, which is when skin cells regenerate, and you wake up with the smoothest skin you could imagine!
Everyone’s pampering routines will be different and may even vary week-to-week. Either way, remind yourself how amazing you are and acknowledge that you deserve the best. Now go ahead and light your favorite candle, put a Halloween movie on, and treat yourself!

Thanks, Julianna! 🙂
Michelle,
This sounds heavenly. I definitely do not do the peels and masks enough. I need to get a set routine going. The last couple years I’ve tried to focus more on taking precautions to take care of my skin. Thanks for the review of your routine and products.

As long as you’re doing something to take care of your skin, that’s all that matters! 🙂

These look like some really good quality products! My favorite way of rewarding myself is taking a bubble bath, it’s just the best feeling in the world 🙂 Have a nice day!

A bubble bath sounds wonderful, my apartment’s tub is far too small otherwise I’d be adding that to my routine as well! 🙂
